David M. Gonzales Park Stormwater Capture Project
The Project will collect runoff from a 759-acre drainage area and potentially capture 489 acrefeet per year. Proposed scope of work at David M. Gonzales would include the installation of two infiltration galleries with a maximum combined area of 2.9 acres to capture stormwater from the Los Angeles County Flood Control District storm drains and infiltrate into the San Fernando Groundwater Basin.
East Los Angeles Sustainable Median Stormwater Capture Project
Construction broke ground for the East Los Angeles Sustainable Median Stormwater Capture Project in August 2020 and is expected to be complete in late 2021. The project site is located on Olympic Boulevard and Garfield Avenue in East Los Angeles. Through the installation of infiltration wells, a water-efficient irrigation system, construction of pervious walkways, and revegetation using drought tolerant plants and native trees, the Project will effectively divert, capture, and infiltrate approximately 232 acre-feet of stormwater in an average rainfall year from a 3,000-acre tributary area, equivalent to filling approximately 114 Olympic size swimming pools.
Edgewick Dam Stormwater Management
The Edgewick Dam Stormwater Management Project is located at the northerly terminus of Edgewick Road. This project will remove and replace the current concrete channel that leads to a shotcrete spillway into an open channel using porous and pervious methods.
